State Hydrographic Service of Georgia

A final meeting of the project “Development of Hydrographic and Oceanographic Infrastructure in Georgia” was held at the State Hydrographic Service of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, LEPL, which was implemented under the auspices of the Hydrographic and Oceanographic Agency of the Republic of Korea.
Representatives of the State Hydrographic Service of Georgia and the South Korean Hydrographic and Oceanographic Agency and heads of the project implementing companies participated in the meeting.
At the meeting, the parties assessed the work carried out under the project, and a presentation of the activities carried out in terms of professional development of the Hydrographic Service specialists was also held. The parties also discussed the prospects for future cooperation.
At the end of the meeting, acting Director of the Hydrographic Service Nino Tsulaia presented certificates of appreciation to the project organizers.

The project - \"Development of Hydrographic and Oceanographic Infrastructure in Georgia\" was launched in 2020. The project provided significant support to the beneficiary organization - the State Hydrographic Service of Georgia - in improving navigation safety in the maritime space. In particular, hydrographic infrastructure was introduced in Georgian ports, oceanographic surveys were conducted, the analogue of which has not been conducted in the maritime space of Georgia, the results and data obtained within the framework of these surveys are important for the development of marine resources and the avoidance of navigational incidents. The service was provided with innovative hydrographic technologies, a large hydrographic catamaran intended for surveys with various research equipment and software. In addition, one of the main components of the project was the retraining of employees of the Hydrographic Service. About thirty training courses or workshops were held within the framework of this activity.
