Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia has congratulated Hydrographers on professionals day.
June 21 is Hydrography Day. International society, each maritime nation and Georgia as well celebrates this date since 2005! congretuations on professional day to the representatives of this most important field. Hydrography is one of the oldest fields in the history of mankind , which is as important and relevant today as it was centuries ago. Georgia is no excemption-ensuring safe navigation is an important priority for sailors and not only for them. Dvelopment and growth of hydrography as the sector is important as well, as we can confidently declare that we achieved serious success in this area in recent years. Georgia having ben fill member of the international Hydrographic Organizationa (IHO) since 2015, hence a full participant in international Hydrographic Processes, which is also important in terms of the introduction of hydrographic technologies and stuff training, all this has a positive impact on the quality of safe navigation and creates the best prospects for the development of the hydrographic profession in Georgia in Future.
It should be noted that the navigation charts produced by SHSG have already been inlisted in the World charts catalogue and have been assigned international membering , which implies their availibility worldwide.
GSHS is a member of International Association of Lighthouse authorities (IALA) since 2016- the organization provides rules for navigation in the worlds seas and oceans and regularly cinducts inspection in Georgian ports in accordance with IALA standards. It sis notable as well that GSHS has recently implemented new modern hydrographic technologies with the support of the STate and International Organizations and continues working in this direction.
