JULY 1- World Aton Day
We celebrate aids to Navigation Day on July 1. Above mentioned date was established by the initiative of the International Association of Lighthouse authorities (IALA).
Aids to navigation (navigational signs) provides safe navigation of ship in the waterways.
The BUOYAGE SYSTEM in the seas and oceans is managed by the norms and standards of the International Association of Lighthouse Organizations (IALA).
Georgia became a member of the mentioned association in 2016, therefore the State Hydrographic Service of Georgia maintains navigation signs and marking of harbors in the maritime space of Georgia according to the IALA regulations.
